Questions

Short answers to what people ask most.

Is there a subscription?

No. AirMouse costs 7,99 € once on the App Store, everything is included, and there is nothing to buy inside the app. The computer app is free.

Do I need an account?

No. Pairing is one click on the computer, and the two devices keep a token between them.

Does it work over the internet?

No, by design. Phone and computer must be on the same local network. Nothing goes to a server on the internet.

Does it work with Windows and Linux?

Yes: Windows 10 and 11, and Linux on X11 or Wayland. The live screen works on a Mac and on Linux with X11; per-app profiles work on Mac and Windows.

Does it work with an Intel Mac?

The current download is built for Apple silicon Macs (M1 and later).

Does it work on iPad?

Not yet. AirMouse is built for iPhone.

Can I control more than one computer?

Yes, as many as you like. Switch between them from the status chip or Settings.

Can it replace my presentation clicker?

Yes. A tap on the pad advances the slide, and the keyboard has the arrows, B for a black screen and Esc. See Presenting.

Why does the computer need an app?

Something has to run on the computer for a phone to move its cursor; every app of this kind works that way. What AirMouse avoids is making you work for it: one file, one click, one Allow.

Can a paired phone run anything on my computer?

No. It can move the pointer, type, use the clipboard and media keys, and run the macros you make. Shell commands are refused unless the computer is started with --allow-shell.

Why does Windows say it protected my PC?

The Windows installer is not yet signed with a Microsoft code-signing certificate, so SmartScreen warns about it. Click More info, then Run anyway.
